About

Why Oonideal exists

Ooni now sells nine pizza ovens, and the names do not make it any clearer. Koda, Karu, Volt, followed by a 12, a 16, a 2, a Pro or a Max — you cannot work out the difference between a Karu 12 and a Karu 2 from the name.

On top of that, the same oven has four prices at four shops, all of which go on sale at different moments. The gap between the dearest and the cheapest shop on the same model regularly reaches sixty euros.

This site does two things. It puts the prices side by side, so you do not have to keep four tabs open. And it says honestly which model suits which situation, including what is wrong with it — because that is usually the information you need in order to decide.

How we arrive at the advice

The specifications come from the manufacturer. The advice is based on what those specifications mean in practice: a twelve-inch oven bakes one pizza at a time, and that is a different kind of evening from an oven that handles two.

Where we are not certain of something, we write that down instead of talking around it. And where a cheaper model is enough, we say so — even though it earns us less commission.

How this site is paid for

Through affiliate links. If you buy through a shop link on this site, we receive a commission from that shop and you pay the same price.
